Beach Bikes

I live near Galveston Island in South Texas, so I'm always on the lookout for new toys to enjoy at the beach. So I was very excited when I found a new form of transportation that is very affordable and it looks like a lot of fun.

XYZ Beach Cruisers is an online store that offers beach bikes there might just beach bums like me. Nearby are starting materials and their lands are classic and strong. The colors are just right for the beach environment. They are very popular in California right now, where they have been marketed more heavily. But I can hardly wait to have mine on Galveston's West Beach. How cool is it to be the trendsetter, the first on the beach with the new toy?

You can order a 26 inch beach cruiser in either the woman's model or the man's model. And right now there is a sale that will allow you to purchase one of these great bikes for less than $100! Get over to the website right now and take a look at these new beach cruiser bicycles. I'm sure you're going to want one. You have to wait till you see me on the beach having fun on mine!

Hill Country Camp

Our annual trip to church camp in the Hill Country of Texas ended Saturday.

It was a week of hot weather, and dry for the most part. There were over 300 teenage kids. The food was not particularly bad, but it was served in portions that were the same for the 80 pound 13-year-old girl in the slightly heavier offensive lineman who just graduated from high school. And to the old fat counselor who is used to eating a bit more than 800 calories a day.

My cabin had 20 16-year-old guys that don't want to stop talking at midnight, despite the fact the lights had been out for half an hour. I've never been in a cabin with girls of course, but I can not imagine that they talk more than these boys did, or about more inane things. The bunks were hard and the tennis shoes didn't smell exactly like roses. I played softball against those kids, and I hadn't played since last year at camp. I got sunburned & my body aches. I'm tired, and I have to leave for Dominica and just four more days. (I wish I could find the guy who makes my schedule, he really needs to be more considerate of my old body).

All in all, it was a great week and I can't wait till next year!

Reading Tutors

My grandson came home from church camp all fired up about the stories he had heard from the Bible. He decided he wanted to be able to read and understand it for himself. He asked if he could sign up for the Score Educational Center’s Advantage Program and get one of their Reading Tutors to help him advance in his reading skills so he will not have to depend on someone else to tell him about the things he wants to understand!

No doubt his grades will improve next year too!

Hawaii Vacation

In a press release issued by the Hawaii Ecotourism Association, we read of the push for tourism that is environmentally sensitive and that protects the integrity of the culture and the ecology of the region. They point to the kind of vacations that are customized and yet environmentally friendly and being planned and offered by such organizations as HawaiianBeachRentals.com.

An example might be that you would be able to make arrangements for Kauai vacation rentals at environmentally responsible hotels, called green hotels, which utilize natural resources and energy in ways that are friendly to the environment while still giving visitors an awesome experience in Hawaii. Can you imagine hiking, boating, snorkeling, or even while watching in habitats that have been unaffected. That's the kind of vacation been offered by Hawaiian Beach Rentals .

HDMI Switch

When I thought I had saved up the money for the LCD HD TV and home theater system I wanted, I went to the store that I had visited to decide which model I wanted. I found that there were some things I was going to need to make sure they worked properly, like some HDMI cables and a HDMI Switch that would handle multiple pieces of HD equipment. I ended up putting those on a credit card!

Dominica Tickets

I am traveling with a group to Dominica in about three weeks. We received our tickets a few days ago, the old paper coupon kind. When we were together a couple of days later, I had everyone check their tickets to be sure that the coupons were all there and for the right dates.  One of the seventeen was missing coupon number five. I found out that that is a hassle to get corrected. I have to overnight the ticket back to be redistributed. It took a bit of irritation to get it done, but at least we were not standing at the air port in San Juan without the coupon!
