Uptown Saturday Night
I was amused last night when I told my friend about an event taking place in St. Augustine, Florida. He and his wife like to take trips to going to places that have a lot of opportunities for shopping for antiques and other hidden treasures.
They go almost every month to the sales that take place in Canton, Texas. They have told me about trips to Gladewater, Texas and, Kemah Texas. Both of those communities have almost become antique towns, with so many shops and markets aimed at the antique hunters.
When I told my friend about the event called, "Uptown Saturday Night" his wife went immediately to the computer and began to search for all of the things that she might find in St. Augustine. I have a feeling my friend is about to do some St. Augustine shopping.
As we were talking about baseball and politics and other extremely important topics, she would say “oh look, they have train tours”, or “Wow honey, they have book signings and art galleries”. She was especially amazed when she found out that every store along the street has an open house and that there is free parking provided by local mission. She said, "Sweetheart every store has refreshments, even WINE available to customers."
She was disappointed to learn that she had missed the sales on October 27, but was excited to find out that the sale on November 24 was still a possibility for them.
